Chinese vice premier goes to U.S. for trade talks Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan has left Beijing for trade talks with the United States. Wang will co-chair the 23rd China-U.S. Joint Commission on Commerce and Trade, or JCCT, in Washington with U.S. Deputy Secretary of Commerce Rebecca Blank and trade representative Ron Kirk. Established in 1983, the JCCT is a platform for China and the US to promote trade relations and address issues of mutual concern. The 22nd China-U.S. JCCT was held in China's southwestern city of Chengdu in November 2011. There have been some new appointments in the provincial committees of the Communist Party of China. Xia Baolong has been appointed secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee. Xia replaces Zhao Hongzhu, who is currently deputy secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection.
