A high school teacher
high school意思是“中学”，这是美国英语的说法。美国中学也分初中和高中，英语中的说法是：junior high school 初中 / a high school junior 初中生 / senior high school 高中 / a high school senior 高中生。
在英国英语中，“中学”是secondary school，这种学校通常接受11—19岁的学生。middle school也可以表示“中学”，但主要指初中，在英美两国都可以使用。就“中学”而言，middle school不如high school或secondary school这两种说法普遍。

A school day at Mrs. Cox's high school is divided into six periods of one hour each.
is divided是被动语态；one hour each在这里是指“每……一小时”，each作副词用。each类似的用法如:
These ties are 50 yuan each. 这些领带每条五十块钱。
He gave the children two apples each. 他给孩子们每人两个苹果。

During her "free" period from 2 to 3 p.m., Mrs. Cox has to meet with parents, order supplies, make out examinations, check assignments, and take care of many other things.

3）make out是一个动词词组，意思是“写出……”；make out examinations在这里的意思是“出考题”。例如：

4）order在这里作及物动词用，意思是“定购……”。例如：
