An escalating amount of countries, especially the developed regions, invest a large amount of funds in the field of arts. Here follows a controversial issue that the capital is supposed to be used in developing technology, military affairs and social services, such as the education, medical care and public security instead of arts. But no one can underestimate the intangible contribution of arts which breathe passion and vitality to our daily lives. There is no doubt that science and social services are playing vital roles in today’s civilization. Governments pour a sum of taxpayers’ money into defense capability to protect its people from other countries’ attack. And only in this way, can we develop the urban infrastructure. Furthermore, education gives us technique and skills to stay floating in such a competitive society and high end products like mobile phones make our like more convenient. However, the quality of life depends on not only the material level but the spiritual one as well. Arts are the irreplaceable part of man’s life which is able to purify our soul with different ways such as, painting, music and dancing. To a certain extent, arts are another kind of language that improves the cultural communication among a variety of nations. It symbolizes the prosperity and wealth of a country and arts have already turned into a kind of occupation offering many job opportunities. To make a final point, arts are the catalyst for economic development sometimes. As we all know, the first structure rebuilt in Germany after the Second World War is not the factory and government building, but the theatre as they clearly realized the significance of arts. In a nutshell, the material basis, including military affairs, education and industrial development, make our lives more comfortable. And at the same time, individuals and people cannot live without arts which provide us the energy in the spiritual level.
