Secunder Kermani reports.In total, more than 2000 Americans have been killed in this 18-year long conflict alongside many more Afghan soldiers and civilians.In September, US and Taliban officials were on the verge of signing a deal and helping bring an end to the violence.But following the death of another American soldier in a Taliban attack, President Trump called off the talks.Discussions have now begun again, with US officials understood to be pressing for a ceasefire around the signing of any deal.
