This is Wrangel island, which lies in the Arctic Ocean, north of Siberia.Walruses are the largest seals in the world and males can weight up to two thousand kilos.Even for a large male polar bear, they are not an easy prey.Their tusks can grow up to a meter long and could inflict a lethal injury.Their thick hides are virtually impenetrable.A polar bear trying to make a kill usually only succeeds in scaring the whole herd into the sea.The walrus use their sensitive whiskers to search for clams on the ocean floor.
