From NPR news in Washington, I'm Jack Speer.The White House is stepping up effort to stem a spike in woman and children crossing the south-west border.NPR's Jennifer Ludden saysthe administration is devoting more resources to process the influx of peopleand try to keep them from coming in the first place.White House officials say they're sending extra immigrant attorneys and judges to borderto more quickly decide which migrants might have a case for settle,they're also seeking more places to detain families and children humanly.The administration announced millions more in aid to Central Americato combat the gang violence so many migrant's safe force them to leave.In addition, officials are scrambling to counter what they called a deliberate misinformation campaign.They say smugglers are telling migrants that once in the US, children can stay.In fact, they're ordered to appear in immigration courtthough officials can't say how many actually do.Jennifer Ludden, NPR news, Washington.According to the Pentagon,US is seeking assurances from Iraq that team of people is sending to the country will have some protections including legal protections.Iraq refused to sign such agreements automatically help lead the complete withdraw of US forces from the country in 2011.Pentagon Press Secretary Admiral John Kirby says thatPentagon is committed to ensuring the troops have legal protectionsincluding assurances they will be subject to US judicial system and not Iraqi system.Virginia governor Terry McAuliffe announced his intentions today to expand the state's medicate program administratively
