Visiting Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has met his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov in Moscow,and the two sides reached broad consensus on boosting their strategic partnership.Yang Jiechi saidChinese president Hu Jintao will soon pay a state visit to Russia at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.The upcoming visitis expected to add new impetus to the further development of the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination.He suggested the two sides should implement key agreements reached by the top leaders,keep the momentum of high-level communications,expand consensus and further deepen mutually-beneficial cooperation in all fields.The Chinese government has reacted strongly to reports of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abesaying Beijing had a strong need to challenge its neighbours over territory.An interview with the Washington Post is said to have quoted Abe saying,China was deeply ingrained to clash with Japan as well as other Asian neighbours,with the ruling Communist Party using those disputes to maintain power.Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei saidChina is strongly dissatisfied with the Japanese leader's comments that distort facts,attack and defame China and stir up confrontations between the two countries.
