China has said it is ready to work with South Korea to further promote ties in light of the election of president Park Geun-hye.Chinese President Hu Jintao has sent his congratulations to Park.Foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying saysChina is willing to further enhance mutual strategic and political trust with South Korea.Park, who won the election on Wednesday,is the 60-year-old daughter of former South Korean President Park Chung-hee.She is country's first female president.Hua said maintaining the Korean Peninsula's peace and stability is conducive for the region's common development and prosperity.Xi Jinping, new leader of the Communist Party of China,has met with chief executives of the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions in Beijing.Leung Chun-ying of Hong Kong and Chui Sai On of Macao are in Beijingto brief officials on the two regions' latest economic, social and political developments.
