A female kindergarten teacher in north China's Shanxi Province has been put under a 15-day administrative detention after hitting children.The kindergarten, with 43 children, has also been ordered to close down.The girl's father called the police after his daughter had swollen eyes and bruises on the 15th of October.According to him, the injuries were from a punishment for not being good at arithmetics.A surveillance camera recorded the girl being hit repeatedly for more than ten minutes. The video was released by local media.Authorities in Taiyuan have now started a one-month inspection of all kindergartens, vowing to shut down those with serious problems.China has stepped up financial support to the construction of subsidized housing this year.China Banking Regulatory Commission says financial institutions have issued 150 billion yuan to such projects in the first 9 months- that's about a 50 percent rise from a year earlier.Chinese government has also vowed to build 36 million affordable housing units by 2015.Official data shows China has started to build 7.2 million affordable housing units, with the annual target current at 7 million.
