大学里有很多选修课可供选择。学生可以根据他们自己的需要来选择这些课程。你是怎样选择选修课的?
参考答案:With the reform of Chinese higher education and emphasis on the comprehensive development of students, universities are becoming more and more student-oriented. They offer undergraduates and even postgraduates a wide variety of optional courses in addition to their compulsory ones.
Granted a high degree of freedom in choosing their favorite electives, students have made different decisions. Some select foreign languages to learn, others find it necessary to improve their computer skills, and still others are determined to be more job-oriented when choosing the courses.
As far as I am concerned, I'm inclined to choose electives based on both the value of the courses and the interest of my own. In my eyes, university is not a place for survival skills but a palace of knowledge and critical reasoning. I prefer to choose courses which can enrich my knowledge, such as Cross Culture Communication, An Introduction to the World Literature and Different Schools of Western Arts. I believe these courses can not only widen my horizons, but also well cultivate my temperament and get myself improved.

最近许多大学校园向游客开放。有的人认为向游客开放大学校园是不必要的,甚至是有害的;但是另一些人认为这样做是有好处的。你的看法如何?
参考答案:Nowadays, with the development of society and economy and the improvement of people's living standard, tourism has grown to be a new booming industry. Places with different styles of tourist resources have become tourist destinations, among which the campuses of prestigious universities turn out to be a new focus.
Opinions on whether university campuses should be open to tourists vary from individual to individual. Proponents consider it beneficial to both the university and the tourist. On the one hand, the university may be better understood by the visitor, which may enhance its reputation and help attract more talented applicants. On the other hand, young children, when absorbed in the noble and sacred atmosphere, may be stimulated to work even harder to realize their dream of attending universities. Opponents argue that the university is a holy place for study. The inflow of tourists may be a disturbance to normal teaching activities.
Every advantage has its disadvantage. In my viewpoint, the benefits outweigh the drawbacks on the condition that proper visiting time is scheduled.
